Angélica Pérez-Castro is a Puerto Rican cinematographer and steadicam operator based in Atlanta. A member of IATSE Local 600, she has over 10 years of experience in the film and television industry. Her work has been seen on Netflix, Fox, HBO, Amazon, Hulu, and at festivals worldwide.
In addition to narrative projects, Angélica has worked on TED Talks, documentaries, branded content, commercials, and music videos, including Sufjan Stevens’ “Video Game.”
She is an active presence in the film community, having taught camera workshops and participated in panels at events such as the Atlanta Film Festival, Cine Gear Expo, Rome Festival, Kodak Film Lab, Out on Film Festival, and more.
Angélica is passionate about connecting her art with community. She collaborated with The Atlanta Youth Tennis & Education Foundation (AYTEF) to combine her love of tennis and filmmaking, and with the Nichols Center to promote mental health awareness on film sets.
In 2021, she was selected for the ASC Vision Mentorship Program, followed by the AFI Cinematography Intensive in 2022. She is also a member of Women In Media and an active member of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC).
Most recently, she lensed the indie feature Greek Mothers Never Die, released in May 2025 on streaming platforms.
A lover of film in every sense, Angélica finds joy in shooting on 16mm and 35mm whenever possible. She also enjoys capturing still photography on film, going on spontaneous photo walks, and exhibiting her work with the Atlanta Photography Group. Whether on set or on vacation, she is often accompanied by her fluffy calico travel companion, Brownie.
